## Description

Dr. Danielle Rousseau is an independent researcher, educator, clinician, speaker, and advocate whose work connects mental health, justice, education, and embodied practice. Drawing on clinical experience in correctional settings, teaching, research, and community partnerships, she explores how individuals and communities can heal, learn, and thrive. Her approach brings scholarly inquiry together with practical, trauma-informed perspectives on resilience, care, and wellbeing.

Rousseau collaborates with research teams, funders, practitioners, and organizations on research partnerships, grant collaborations, and program evaluation designed around community needs. She also offers speaking and workshops, sharing research-informed insights on resilience, vicarious trauma, and supporting people in demanding care-focused roles. Her areas of interest include trauma-informed education, mindfulness, embodied practice, radical self-care, and justice and community wellbeing.

Her selected writing includes research on embodied resilience in carceral settings, examining a trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness curriculum, and Yoga and Resilience: Empowering Practices for Survivors of Sexual Trauma, a collaborative book she edited. Through research, teaching, writing, and partnership, Rousseau works to connect evidence with meaningful real-world practice.
