## Description

Daño Cerebral Madrid – APANEFA is a Madrid-based association supporting people affected by acquired brain injury and their families. Founded on 15 March 1994 by relatives of patients at Hospital Ramón y Cajal, its name originally stood for the Association of Neurological Patients and Families. The organization works to improve quality of life through information, specialized care, personal support and social inclusion.

Its services include a day centre offering integrated psychosocial and care support, SEPAP individual attention to help improve personal functionality, and a home-help service for people with special dependency needs. APANEFA also provides family respite and adapted leisure activities, as well as online and in-person support in areas including physical, cognitive, mental health and communication needs. Its website offers guidance and resources for people with brain injury, caregivers, friends and relatives.

The association welcomes members and volunteers and accepts donations. It also runs an online shop featuring products made by the organization, and shares news, programs and community activities, including radio content and events.
