## Description

DARA Tennis Club is a community tennis club with a history spanning more than 100 years. From 1923 to 2024, the club operated courts at 49A Maple Drive in Ottawa, serving its members on the Farm. The club closed that location on October 31, 2024, to make way for the Ottawa Hospital’s new Civic Campus. DARA is now pursuing a new home so it can continue offering tennis to its longstanding and future membership. As of November 1, 2024, the club had not confirmed a new location, but its board was in discussions with potential partners, including the City of Ottawa. The Ottawa Hospital has committed to providing space for four tennis courts and a clubhouse in five acres of park space planned above the new campus parking garage; the timing of that space’s readiness remains uncertain. DARA’s stated goal is to have courts ready for members in 2026. The club’s website provides member information, contact details, news, and a photo gallery, and lists an Ottawa mailing address and telephone number.
