## Description

Founded in 1994, Dark Wizardry is a text-based multi-class MUD that invites players into a world of magic and mystery. Its distinctive progression system lets adventurers develop all five main classes—Warrior, Thief, Mage, Psionic, and Cleric—at the same time. Players can also specialize up to four times in additional classes, with options including the backstabbing Assassin, undead-conjuring Necromancer, and peaceful, earth-loving Druid. The game emphasizes personal choice and long-term character development, as players shape their destinies, form alliances, and seek out ancient secrets.

Dark Wizardry supports its community with practical tools and ways to connect. Its custom graphical MUSHclient includes a map, animated affects window, chat, group gauges, and personal gauges. Discord integration connects in-game and out-of-game conversations, provides notices about experience multipliers and game events, and helps players stay informed. The brand also offers GitHub repositories containing tools designed for MUD players, builders, and immortals. Through its game, software, and community features, Dark Wizardry provides an adventure experience supported by resources for both players and creators.
