## Description

DAR ŽIVOTA is a Slovak civic association bringing together people who have received heart transplants, their family members and friends. Founded as a volunteer-based community, it supports patients in adapting to life after transplantation and works to strengthen public understanding of organ donation and transplantation.

The association organizes educational, health and rehabilitation activities for transplant recipients, including patient meetings, seminars, exercise and sports events, and opportunities to share experiences. Its resources also provide information for patients on topics such as medication, vaccination, healthy eating, physical activity and health risks. Through educational events at schools and universities, public discussions, videos, books and cultural projects, DAR ŽIVOTA raises awareness of organ donation and the life-saving impact of transplantation. It also promotes solidarity and cooperation around the Slovak transplant programme.

The association welcomes adult heart transplant recipients and, under its membership rules, their family members or friends. Its work is supported by volunteers, donors and partners, with contributions helping fund patient education, activities and support for transplantation.
