## Description

Data Africa is an innovative open-source platform dedicated to mapping and visualizing vital data on agriculture, climate, poverty, and health across sub-Saharan Africa. Designed to serve both technical and non-technical audiences, this user-friendly resource presents comprehensive narratives from data obtained at the national and sub-national levels for 13 key countries, including Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. 

The platform pulls from diverse data sources, including the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), World Bank, and University of East Anglia, enabling users to explore critical themes that influence development. Core features include insights into poverty metrics such as the poverty headcount ratio and stunting rates in children, as well as rainfall variability and its agricultural impacts.

Developed as part of the HarvestChoice initiative by IFPRI and the University of Minnesota, Data Africa aims to enhance understanding and foster solutions for challenges affecting the continent. The project holds potential for expanded coverage in the future, enriching Africa's data landscape even further.
