## Description

Data Central is an astronomical e-research platform and data archive developed at Australian Astronomical Optics, Macquarie University. It brings together diverse Australian optical and other astronomical datasets in a feature-rich portal, helping scientists, survey teams, novice astronomers and members of the public explore data, collaborate and support new discoveries. The platform provides curated data products and documentation alongside information federated from remote data portals.

Users can search for astronomical sources by position or survey-assigned name, query catalogues with SQL or ADQL, create image cutouts, and download spectra and integral field spectroscopy products in bulk. Other services include cone searches, virtual observatory access, a schema browser for exploring data fields and derived properties, and the Anglo-Australian Telescope Archive for accessing observed data. Data Central Cloud also allows users to store and share their own data.

The archive hosts releases from numerous surveys, including GALAH, GAMA, SAMI, DEVILS, GLEAM and RAVE, as well as selected all-sky catalogues.
