## Description

The Data Justice Lab, based at Cardiff University's School of Journalism, Media and Culture (JOMEC), is a pioneering initiative focused on the intersection of datafication and social justice. It serves as a hub for research and collaboration aimed at revealing the complex dynamics of data-driven processes and their implications for society. The Lab examines critical issues such as data discrimination, digital labor, algorithmic governance, and the ethical considerations surrounding the use of big data.

Through various projects and publications, the Data Justice Lab addresses the potential harms associated with data collection and misuses, emphasizing the need for social justice-informed design and advocacy in the digital age. It seeks to empower communities affected by data practices, providing insights and fostering discussions around the right to fair treatment in an increasingly data-centric world. By bridging digital media studies with social justice, the Lab is at the forefront of shaping a more equitable data landscape for all.
