As the first country in South America to implement the Infrastructure Transparency Index (ITI), Datalat aims to provide more information and enhance the quality of processes related to public infrastructure. To conduct this evaluation, Datalat will assess 30 contracting entities and 60 infrastructure projects based on various criteria such as type, sector, contract amount, and impact. The evaluation will focus on four dimensions: 1) Facilitating environment, 2) Capacities and processes, 3) Citizen participation, and 4) Information disclosure. Implemented in 2019 at a global level, the Infrastructure Transparency Index has now reached Ecuador with the support of CoST, an international initiative that empowers citizens by promoting the disclosure and interpretation of infrastructure project data. Datalat, in partnership with CoST Ecuador and other stakeholders, is dedicated to empowering the public through access to transparent information and collaborative decision-making.
