DataverseNL is a research data repository co-provided by DANS and participating institutions, offering a safe, sustainable, and certified long-term preservation solution that meets the highest archiving standards. Managed by DANS, DataverseNL allows institutions to grant rights to user accounts, manage, and curate deposited research data. Institutions pay a fixed membership fee for participation, with additional data storage costs charged per terabyte per year. Researchers can publish their data in DataverseNL through their institution. The repository operates with an advisory board and local administrators who meet regularly to develop best practices for Research Data Management. Legal agreements ensure the protection of personal data and adherence to general terms of use. DataverseNL uses the open source Dataverse software, developed by Harvard University, with a global community contributing to its development.
