## Description

Davalois Fearon Dance (DFD) is a New York-based dance company founded and led by Bessie Award-winning dancer and choreographer Davalois Fearon, a recipient of a MAP Fund grant. The company creates and presents dance that explores social issues while pushing artistic boundaries, bringing movement, music, and community engagement together in performances and educational programs. Its repertory includes works such as Consider Water, Finding HerStory, Up/right, KERNEL, Skeleton Architecture, and Love Machine. These projects have appeared at festivals, theaters, libraries, parks, and other community venues, often alongside discussions or collaborative events. DFD also offers dance classes, workshops, storytime programs, and virtual screenings, extending its work beyond the stage to participants of different ages and backgrounds. Its activities include collaborations with musicians, artists, cultural institutions, and presenters, as well as performances connected to environmental themes and public celebrations. Through live and digital programming, Davalois Fearon Dance makes contemporary dance accessible while inviting audiences to reflect on social concerns, artistic expression, and shared experiences.
