Description

DAV of Minnesota, also known as Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota, is a membership organization dedicated to serving Minnesota men and women who have been disabled in defense of our nation. With a focus on supporting veterans and their families, DAV of Minnesota offers a range of programs and services. The Outdoor Program provides opportunities for veterans to heal through nature, offering activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping to promote camaraderie and connection.

Additionally, the Minnesota DAV Transportation Program plays a vital role in assisting veterans and their families by providing free rides to and from VA medical appointments, with 188 volunteer drivers covering a remarkable 870,000 miles in 2021. Recognizing the ever-changing landscape of veteran benefits, DAV of Minnesota has dedicated experts who provide assistance and guidance to veterans and their families to help them fully utilize the benefits they have earned through their service to our nation. Moreover, DAV of Minnesota actively advocates for veteran rights, uniting with other veteran organizations to fight for important legislation at the local, state, and federal levels.

Operating as the Giving Arm of DAV of Minnesota, the DAV of Minnesota Foundation has been improving the lives of Minnesota veterans and their families since 1991. By providing financial resources, the Foundation supports a range of quality programs, services, and projects across the state. With a network of 32 chapters and over 19,000 members, DAV of Minnesota is run by veterans who are committed to serving their fellow veterans.

The organization is entirely supported by membership dues and charitable contributions from the public, as it receives no federal funds. Whether through volunteer opportunities or donations, individuals can make a positive difference in the lives of disabled Minnesota veterans and support the important work of DAV of Minnesota
