## Description

The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) has been at the forefront of evidence-based policy research and advocacy since its inception in 1945. Originating from the need to use scientific knowledge for the betterment of humanity post-Hiroshima, FAS has evolved into a vital organization that mobilizes science and technology to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

FAS tackles a variety of critical issues, including nuclear weapons, global risk, climate change, and education inequities. With a commitment to ensuring that scientific expertise influences policymaking, FAS actively engages in research and advocacy to develop sound policies that promote societal welfare. Their initiatives extend to supporting innovative technology, addressing environmental hazards, and fostering diverse voices in science policy through their DEIB program.

Through fiscal sponsorship, FAS also aids emerging entrepreneurs in science and technology policy, amplifying their impact within the scientific community. By championing collaborative solutions, FAS envisions a healthier, safer, and more equitable future for all.
