The Days of '47 is an annual celebration that pays tribute to Utah's early and modern pioneers, showcasing their courage and honoring their spirit. This private, nonprofit, all-volunteer organization aims to keep the pioneering legacy alive and inspire future generations. With exciting events and activities, the Days of '47 offers something for everyone. From March 24-25, the Goldenwest Credit Union Royalty Scholarship Competition takes place, providing young participants the opportunity to showcase their talents. The Days of '47 WCF Insurance Float Preview Party on July 21-22 provides an opportunity to meet the creators and technicians behind the Parade floats. The Utah Days of 47 Rodeo, held from July 19-24, promises thrilling rodeo action for die-hard fans. Additionally, the Deseret News Marathon on July 24 offers a classic event that combines fun and exercise. The main attraction is the Days of '47 Parade, which takes place on July 24th, starting at 9:00 am, in downtown Salt Lake City. Colorful floats, bands, horses, clowns, and other exciting entries entertain thousands of enthusiastic spectators every year. The celebration also includes the opening of the Pioneer Children's Memorial to the public. All these events and activities are planned for the 2023 version of The Days of '47. The celebration is full of thrills and spills that the whole family can enjoy. Many of the activities are free to the public, allowing everyone to participate.
