## Description

The National Capital Trolley Museum, located in Colesville, MD, is a nonprofit organization that has been operating since 1969. As a 501(c)(3) organization, their mission is to preserve and interpret the heritage of electric street and interurban railways for the Nation's Capital and surrounding areas. They strive to benefit present and future generations by maintaining a collection of significant national and international objects, in addition to their own collections. The Museum takes its responsibility of caring for its collected objects very seriously. This includes proper conservation, documentation, handling, storage, exhibition, and interpretation procedures. Their commitment extends to the public as well, with physical and intellectual access to the objects and a dedication to integrity and objectivity in their exhibitions, programs, and publications. Through their car collection, demonstration railway, and Visitor Center exhibits, the National Capital Trolley Museum offers a unique opportunity to explore the nature of urban transportation in the past, all set in a rural setting. If you're passionate about history, transportation, or simply looking for an engaging and educational experience, this museum is the perfect destination.
