## Description

De Akkerwinde is a care farm in Nisse, the Netherlands, offering development-focused, work-oriented daytime activities for adults with intellectual disabilities and Saturday care for children and young people with support needs. Its approach draws on the strengths of farm life and a green, healthy environment to help participants develop their abilities, build confidence and grow in independence, while respecting their individual wishes.

During weekday sessions, participants support childcare and after-school care by working in gardens, caring for animals and keeping shared rooms clean. Saturday activities include cooking, animal care and crafts, with occasional nature outings and time to play or socialise. The organisation’s guiding values are green living, togetherness, passion and putting participants first. It emphasises personal attention, meaningful contribution, clear structure and support tailored to each person’s needs and development. De Akkerwinde is open for daytime activities Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. It states that it meets applicable healthcare requirements and works under the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
