## Description

Deadwax Art is the practice of artist Alex Grimmer, who transforms real vinyl records into hand-cut, one-of-a-kind artworks. The pieces bring music history into fine art, using scratched, overplayed, and reproduction records as their material. Each work is made from identified albums, with the artist, title, and pressing year recorded; it is framed, signed, and supplied with a certificate of authenticity. Deadwax Art produces no prints or editions, so each artwork is unique. Its collections span musical icons, the American West, modern figures, and automotive iconography, with available works offered for purchase. Collectors can also commission a piece centered on an artist, album, moment, or personal memory. Past commissions have included private collectors, the RIAA, and showrooms across the United States. For interior designers, architects, and hospitality clients, the brand offers trade pricing, scaled production, and installation support for residential, hospitality, retail, and corporate settings. Through its studio process and commissioned work, Deadwax Art gives familiar records a new visual form.
