## Description

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Diversion Control Division administers programs that help regulate controlled substances and support compliance with federal requirements. Its Controlled Substance Ordering System (CSOS) provides secure electronic ordering services for DEA-registered pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, pharmacies, hospitals, and other authorized participants. Through CSOS, purchasers can transmit orders for Schedule I–V controlled substances electronically, without the supporting paper Form 222, while suppliers can receive and fill those orders.

The division offers guidance and enrollment resources for purchasers, suppliers, and software developers. Services include enrolling in CSOS, managing digital certificates, renewing or revoking certificates, reporting transactions, and accessing technical support and developer tools.
