Deaf Action is a deaf-led charity that has been supporting and celebrating deaf and hard of hearing people since 1835. Our mission is to empower deaf individuals to achieve their full potential and fully participate in society by providing them with equality of rights, access, and opportunities. We offer a wide range of services to cater to the diverse needs of the deaf community.

These include navigation services, befriending service, BSL video production, care in the community, community support in the South of England, social care in Edinburgh and the Lothians, and supported accommodation in Edinburgh. Our communication and interpreting agency provides booking communication support, BSL/English interpreters, communication support workers, electronic notetakers, and lipspeakers. We also offer a variety of courses, such as British Sign Language courses, BSL taster courses, SQA BSL levels, deaf awareness courses, and digital skills training.
