## Description

Dear Debt is a transformative brand created by Melanie Lockert, an award-winning personal finance writer and author. Launched in January 2013, the brand focuses on the critical issues surrounding student loan debt, aiming to empower individuals, particularly women, to take control of their finances. Central to the brand is Lockert’s book, "Dear Debt," which chronicles her personal journey of overcoming $81,000 in student loan debt while breaking down complex financial concepts into digestible information.

Beyond the book, Dear Debt offers various resources, including workshops and the Lola Retreat, an initiative co-founded by Lockert that helps women navigate their financial fears and pursue their dreams. The brand emphasizes the intersection of debt and mental health, promoting awareness through campaigns like the annual Suicide Prevention Awareness Blog Tour. With over six years of experience, 1,000+ articles written, and multiple accolades, Dear Debt stands as a beacon of hope and guidance for those ready to break free from the burdens of debt.
