DeKalb County Government is the official governing body that operates under the township form of County Government in DeKalb County, Illinois. The County Board serves as the legislative element, responsible for adopting all Ordinances that govern DeKalb County. These laws are contained in the DeKalb County Code.

To ensure effective representation, the County is divided into twelve Districts based on population, with members being elected for four-year terms. Every two years, one member is elected in each District.
