## Description

DeKalb County Barn Tour is an annual, one-day event celebrating the historic barns and agricultural heritage of DeKalb County, Illinois. Hosted by the J.F. Glidden Homestead and DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association, the tour invites visitors to explore a changing selection of local barns and discover the craftsmanship, stories, and farming traditions behind them. The 2026 event is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Visitors can purchase tickets for access to the featured barn sites, where they receive a guidebook and driving map and enjoy scenic countryside routes, guided exploration, and opportunities to talk with barn owners. The event welcomes families and features children’s activities at some locations. Food trucks and local restaurants offer dining options, while parking and restrooms are available at barn stops.

The tour also welcomes community involvement. Businesses can become sponsors, and volunteers can help with ticket sales, parking, guest information, and cleanup.
