## Description

Dementia New Zealand is Aotearoa New Zealand’s dementia charity, supporting people affected by dementia, their care partners and whānau. Through services delivered across regions including Tai Tokerau, Auckland, Waikato, Lakes, Tauranga, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington and Canterbury, the organisation helps people find local assistance and navigate their dementia journey. Its support includes information and guidance for people who are concerned about memory, mood or familiar tasks, and encouragement to seek a GP assessment. For people living with dementia and their families, Dementia New Zealand offers local support, referrals, information for family and friends, and help after diagnosis. The charity also provides practical resources, including information sheets, educational webinars, clinical publications, technology guidance, and the Dementia Navigator and Mate Warware app. Its website shares information about dementia, signs and types, diagnosis, living with dementia and ways to reduce risk. Dementia New Zealand promotes awareness and advocacy through news, events and education, and invites the public to contribute through donations, volunteering, fundraising, bequests and sponsorship.
