## Description

Demerara Waves Online News is a trusted brand that provides comprehensive coverage of news and current affairs in Guyana. Their online platform offers a wide range of topics including politics, crime, business, agriculture, health, education, sports, culture, and more. The brand aims to deliver accurate and engaging news content to its readers, keeping them informed and updated on the latest events and developments in the country. In addition to news coverage, Demerara Waves Online News also delves into deeper issues such as biodiversity research and environmental conservation. They recently announced the establishment of a not-for-profit biodiversity research center in the Essequibo River, near the Mazaruni and Cuyuni rivers, in collaboration with the University of Guyana and a British non-governmental organization. This research center aims to support the best in the field of research and tuition while prioritizing the needs of Guyanese stakeholders. The center's focus is not on exporting scientific information but on building local capacity and understanding the solutions of the future. Demerara Waves Online News is dedicated to bridging the gap between science, academia, and local communities. By offering a platform for students, academics, and researchers to study and engage with Guyana's overlooked and under-valued biodiversity, the center strives to make the terrestrial, freshwater, and marine environments more accessible. Additionally, the research center will play a pivotal role in promoting arts and engaging with local communities. Overall, Demerara Waves Online News is a reputable brand that provides valuable insights, up-to-date news, and thought-provoking content, along with their commitment to support biodiversity research and environmental conservation in Guyana.
