Democracy for Puerto Rico (DfPR) is a registered 501(c)(4) nonprofit corporation dedicated to advocating for the interests of the people of Puerto Rico. Their mission is to bring about an immediate and permanent resolution to Puerto Rico's colonial-territorial status. This organization recognizes the grave injustice of political disenfranchisement suffered by millions of citizens in Puerto Rico, a consequence of racism and xenophobia.

They firmly believe that such a deplorable situation cannot be accepted any longer, especially in a time when voting rights are increasingly threatened throughout the country. For almost a decade, the people of Puerto Rico have been demanding an end to their current territorial status, and Democracy for Puerto Rico believes that Congress has a moral duty to take action. Failing to address this issue would be an affront to the fundamental principle of government by consent of the governed.
