## Description

Demographic Research is a peer-reviewed, platinum open-access journal of population sciences published by the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany. Since 1999, it has provided a platform for rigorous research and aims to use the possibilities of digital publishing to support novel and engaging scholarly work. The journal publishes research articles, descriptive findings, response letters, and special collections covering population-related topics. Recent work examines fertility, mortality, migration, family formation, inequalities, and the effects of social and economic change across countries and generations. Demographic Research serves researchers and readers interested in evidence-based insights into population dynamics. For authors, it offers submission guidance and information about editorial policies, peer review, publication, and copyright, along with tools for submitting papers and letters and managing author accounts. Readers can explore current and past volumes, browse articles by author, subject, or type, access replicable articles, and sign up for email alerts. The journal also features editor-selected work, author profiles, and information about its reviewers, ownership, and funding.
