## Description

Denim Day is a powerful initiative created by Peace Over Violence, aimed at challenging harmful attitudes and misconceptions surrounding sexual violence. Established in 1999, this annual event invites individuals, businesses, and community leaders to wear jeans on a designated day in April as a bold statement against victim-blaming. The campaign originated in response to a shocking ruling by the Italian Supreme Court, which suggested that a victim's tight jeans implied consent. This ruling sparked outrage, prompting women in the Italian Parliament to wear jeans in solidarity, leading to the global movement we see today.

Denim Day not only raises awareness during Sexual Assault Awareness Month but also serves as an educational platform, providing vital resources, hotlines, and action kits to support survivors and foster healthy sexuality. With a commitment to prevention and advocacy, Denim Day continues to inspire solidarity and challenge societal norms, fostering a culture that unequivocally stands against sexual violence. Join the movement and make your style a statement of solidarity on April 24th!
