## Description

Denkort Bunker Valentin in Bremen-Farge is a memorial site and educational center. It is located within the ruins of the Valentin bunker, which was a submarine shipyard of the German Kriegsmarine during World War II. From 1943 to 1945, thousands of forced laborers from across Europe and North Africa were employed here, including civilian forced laborers, prisoners of war, and concentration camp inmates. Tragically, more than 1600 of them died due to malnutrition, disease, and arbitrary killings during construction. In November 2015, Denkort Bunker Valentin was officially opened as a place of remembrance and documentation. The exhibitions and other informational offerings focus on the stories of over 10,000 individuals, highlighting the conditions under which they were arrested, deported to Farge, and worked on the construction site.
