We recognize our roles in perpetuating oppressive systems and are committed to addressing them. As stewards of our community, we are accountable and use our resources responsibly. We lead with honesty, integrity, and a commitment to privacy.

We also recognize the importance of preserving and sharing the full history of our Denver community. To meet the evolving needs of our community, we have introduced our 2021-2023 Strategic Roadmap. This roadmap outlines our strategic themes and objectives to guide our library's development.

We have already made significant progress but acknowledge that more work lies ahead. To ensure our momentum continues, we have extended the roadmap through 2024. As an independent agency, the Denver Public Library plays a vital role in supporting Denver's dynamic community.

We believe in the power of libraries as inclusive spaces where everyone is welcome. In November 2022, Denver voters passed measure 2i, providing us with additional funding to enhance our services. We face unique governance challenges, as we are neither fully a part of the City nor fully independent.

To address these challenges, a community task force assessed our financial resources and governance model. We value your input and invite you to share your thoughts on the task force recommendations. Our library is rich in history, and we take pride in our organizational structure and annual reports.

We also offer diverse programs and services, youth services, and access to special collections such as Western History & Genealogy. Our digital collections and archives provide valuable resources for research and exploration.
