## Description

Derby Theatre is a producing theatre in the heart of Derby, focused on presenting compelling shows, nurturing emerging talent and creating opportunities for learning. Its programme includes professional productions, contemporary studio work and family theatre, alongside accessible performances such as audio-described, BSL-interpreted, captioned, relaxed and dementia-friendly shows. The theatre also brings events beyond its venue, connecting with local communities through work shaped by their stories and interests.

Derby Theatre offers a wide range of creative and educational activities. Children and young people can join youth theatre groups and develop skills in acting and performance, while schools and colleges can use the theatre as a learning environment, supported by professional theatre makers. Emerging artists can access development opportunities, including support, space and resources to help create work. The theatre also provides university courses where students study and work alongside theatre professionals on live productions.

Additional activities include mentoring and creative experiences for looked-after young people and care leavers, as well as social sessions for theatre audiences.
