## Description

Derek Corke is a watercolour artist whose work captures the character of architecture and place. Trained in Fine Art and Architectural Drawing at London’s Christopher Wren School, he later won a scholarship to Kingston School of Art. Over more than 30 years, Corke has developed a distinctive style grounded in direct observation, using confident colour and carefully rendered detail to convey the quality of light and a strong sense of time and place. His paintings have been exhibited in Asia and Europe, including at the Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition in London, and are sought after by corporate clients and private collectors.

Corke offers original commissioned watercolour paintings, particularly of homes, interiors, favourite views and locations. During bi-annual visits to Singapore, he consults with clients on the best viewpoint, lighting and time of day, prepares a preliminary sketch for approval, then paints the final work on site. For properties farther away, including in Bali, Australia and Europe, he can work from high-quality digital photographs.
