## Description

Dermatest is an independent dermatological institute that has assessed products for skin tolerance and efficacy since 1978. Its team of dermatologists, allergists, biologists and food scientists conducts scientifically grounded testing to help make products safer to use and their performance measurable. Dermatest serves more than 500 brands worldwide, guiding clients through testing and certification with a free initial consultation.

Its services include safety assessments, patch tests, safety-in-use and efficacy testing, sunscreen testing, regulatory affairs for cosmetics, and in vitro analysis. The institute also offers testing related to sensitive skin, microbiomes and product claims such as “no tears,” using specified testing methods. Products that meet its standards may receive a Dermatest seal of approval, indicating they have been independently tested for skin compatibility and safety. The seal is intended to help consumers identify tested products, including cosmetics, food supplements and other consumer goods that come into contact with the skin.

Dermatest also maintains a reference database, publishes academic contributions, and recruits people of different ages to participate in product studies.
