The Association of South-Asian A Cappella (ASA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and fostering the collegiate South Asian A Cappella community. Founded in April 2016 by a group of alumni from South Asian A Cappella groups, ASA aims to unite members and alumni from universities across the nation, as well as strengthen the bonds between the South Asian and Contemporary A Cappella communities. At ASA, we organize competitions and events that showcase the talent and diversity of South Asian A Cappella groups.

Our bid competitions in 2022 offer groups the opportunity to compete and be recognized as the best. We also have our flagship event, All-American Awaaz, where groups have the chance to perform and captivate audiences with their unique blend of Eastern and Western musical influences. Desi A Cappella, a genre unlike any other, is at the heart of ASA's mission.

It combines elements from both Eastern and Western cultures, resulting in a musically cohesive experience that tells a story of love, heartbreak, and various sentiments. From minute vocal inflections to choreography, every performance piece weaves together the rich traditions of the Indian subcontinent with contemporary Western music.
