## Description

De Stille Weiden is a pet cemetery in Berkhout, near Hoorn, set in the green, rural landscape of West Friesland. It offers a peaceful place for families to say goodbye to a beloved animal and provide it with a dignified final resting place. Established in 1973 by the Groot farming family, the cemetery has a long history of serving people who want a special place to remember their pets. The Zonneveld family took over its management in 1993, and Maikel Zonneveld is now the main point of contact. He arranges burials with a personal, calm approach and can advise families on suitable ways to dress or decorate a grave. De Stille Weiden buries dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and reptiles, giving each animal its own designated place. The grounds include around 2,000 graves arranged across eight sections enclosed by hedges. The cemetery also carefully maintains the graves. Families can contact De Stille Weiden by phone, including on weekends, or send a message through its website.
