## Description

The German Engagement Award is the most prestigious recognition for civic engagement in our country. Celebrating the diversity of voluntary commitment, the award shines a spotlight on individuals and organizations making a difference. Launched in 2009, it honors extraordinary projects contributing to a more humane society. The 2023 award ceremony, held at the Deutsches Theater with over 500 guests, celebrated eight exceptional winners and nominees. This year, the Audience Award was jointly awarded to Simone Schmidt of Rehkitz- und Tierhilfe Franken e.V. and the Jägerschaft des Landkreises Verden e.V. The award not only acknowledges outstanding initiatives but also supports and promotes volunteer engagement through various categories and public nominations.
