Development Pictures is a media content company founded by Jake Simkin, a highly experienced Shooter/Producer. After spending 15 years working in the Middle East in both the humanitarian and commercial sectors, Jake has returned home to Melbourne to use his skills to become a remarkable storyteller through books, films, and media content. With a background in cinematography and extensive experience working as a Producer, Director, and Cinematographer, Jake has collaborated with various production companies, including Dork Films, to create compelling music videos.

He has also worked with the UN, ICRC, and numerous NGOs, setting up effective production teams and studios. As a freelance photojournalist, Jake has covered the conflicts in Syria and Iraq, and has now transitioned to being a shooter producer for documentary productions. Development Pictures specializes in producing television, commercial, and corporate videos for humanitarian and development aid agencies, as well as corporate clients.
