## Description

Devoir de Mémoire Haïti is a Haitian foundation dedicated to preserving and sharing the country’s history. Established in 2013, it has built a strong reputation for publicly promoting historical testimonies in Haiti and supporting the development of collective memory as a foundation for a more just, united society. Its work connects remembrance with efforts to understand past abuses and address their continuing impact.

The foundation offers a range of educational and public resources, including historical testimonies, archives, documents, research, publications, exhibitions, and commemorations. It also shares news and organizes activities to bring historical events and people to wider attention. Through its “Vin Koute” radio program, listeners can hear discussions on Radio Kiskeya. The foundation also highlights initiatives related to transitional justice, including a national strategy developed through consultations with civil society organizations, experts, public institutions, and development partners. As a member of the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Memory Sites (RESLAC), Devoir de Mémoire Haïti contributes to regional memory work and has received Argentina’s Emilio Mignone International Human Rights Award.
