## Description

Devotion Fitness Inc. is a Long Beach, California-based nonprofit creating inclusive spaces for movement, wellness, and community connection. Since 2021, the organization has offered outdoor boxing, fitness, and wellness sessions, including free summer programs for residents in the Long Beach area and across Los Angeles County. Its work is designed especially for LGBTQ+ people and women, with intentional support for transgender, queer, gender-expansive, and Black, Indigenous, and other women of color.

Devotion Fitness approaches exercise as more than physical training: sessions can support well-being, resilience, self-defense, healing, and a stronger connection with nature. The organization emphasizes mutual respect, encouragement, and collective growth rather than competition, and aims to make participants feel safe, affirmed, and welcome. Its instructors and facilitators include members of the communities it serves.

Since launching, Devotion Fitness has served more than 700 members. Surveyed participants include 78.6% who identify as LGBTQ+ and 85.7% who identify as BIPOC. The nonprofit relies on donations to continue offering free community services and promote healthy living, belonging, and healing.
