DexTech Medical is a leading medical company that specializes in advanced healthcare solutions. They have recently initiated a Phase 1 study on the effectiveness of their revolutionary product, OsteoDex, in patients with multiple myeloma (MM). This study aims to assess the safety, tolerability, and treatment response of OsteoDex.

The study will involve 20 patients and is initially being conducted at three prestigious hospitals in Sweden, namely Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, Uddevalla Hospital, and Södersjukhuset in Stockholm. Recruitment of patients is already underway, and another center in Sweden may join the study later. The study is expected to conclude by Q4, 2024.

Dr. Katarina Uttervall, MD, PhD, from the Division of Hematology/HERM at Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge, is the Principal Investigator (PI) for this study. The Central Laboratory at Karolinska University Hospital Solna, NKS, will be responsible for analyzing the main blood markers.

OsteoDex will be administered every two weeks in accordance with the treatment schedule. The study aims to confirm the safety and tolerability of the product, as well as determine treatment response, changes in disease-related biomarkers, and documentation of quality of life. The first patient will begin treatment in April 2023.
