## Description

**Damien Foundation Nigeria (DFB)** is a prominent non-profit medical organization dedicated to combating tuberculosis (TB) and leprosy across Nigeria. Established in the early 1990s, DFB has made significant strides in healthcare, particularly with its pioneering efforts in Multi-Drug Resistance Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment, initiated in partnership with the University College Hospital in Ibadan. Covering over 56 million people across eight states, DFB collaborates closely with governmental ministries of health and local NGOs to enhance service delivery in TB and leprosy diagnosis and treatment.

With a diverse team of nearly 900 staff members, DFB has developed critical health infrastructure, including one of Nigeria's first fluorescent microscope sets and advanced treatment centers for Drug and Extensively Drug Resistant TB. Their commitment extends to ongoing training and capacity building for healthcare personnel, ensuring adherence to international best practices. Through initiatives like the Global Fund Public-Private Mix Grant, DFB aims to increase TB case notifications and improve treatment services, solidifying its role as a leader in public health advocacy and research in Nigeria.
