# Directorate General of Drug Administration - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `dgdagov.info` ## Description The Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) is Bangladesh’s national drug regulatory authority under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It supervises and implements the country’s drug regulations, overseeing activities involving medicines and related products, including imports, procurement of raw and packaging materials, manufacturing, exports, sales, and pricing. Its remit covers allopathic medicines as well as Ayurvedic, Unani, herbal, homeopathic, and other traditional medicines. DGDA works through 47 district offices, whose officers serve as drug inspectors and support licensing and regulatory duties. Expert committees advise the Licensing Authority on matters such as drug control, imports, pricing, and product evaluation. The authority also publishes guidance, laws, notices, reports, product and manufacturer information, and medicine and medical-device pricing resources. Its services include online applications, pharmacy and product registration information, inspection and market-surveillance resources, and pharmacovigilance reporting through the PViMS system.
