## Description

DGLZ, the German Society for Livebearing Toothcarps, is an aquarium association dedicated to the fascinating diversity of livebearing fish. It brings together aquarists interested in these fish, their vivid colors, varied forms, and distinctive behavior. The society promotes species conservation, appropriate care, and responsible breeding, while helping members and enthusiasts share practical experience and specialist knowledge.

Its website provides information on wild and cultivated forms, including guppies, along with species profiles, articles, archival resources, and the history of the association. Visitors can also find news, event announcements, meeting details, and literature for aquarists, including the DGLZ-Rundschau and other specialist publications. The society organizes gatherings that offer opportunities for learning and exchange; its listed spring meeting is scheduled for April 10–11, 2027, in Altenburg, Thuringia. DGLZ also invites people to register fish, become members, and contact the organization. Through regional groups and its online presence, including Facebook and Instagram, it supports an engaged community devoted to livebearing fish.
