## Description

The Croatian Society of Writers (Društvo hrvatskih književnika, DHK), established in 1900, serves as a vital hub for literary creativity and discourse in Croatia. This esteemed organization comprises over 500 members, including prominent authors, poets, and critics, dedicated to promoting and enhancing the literary arts.

DHK organizes a variety of events such as literary tribunes, round tables, and workshops, fostering a vibrant community for writers and literature enthusiasts. They publish influential literary journals, including "Republika" and the Croatian E-Journal of Literary Criticism, known as "Stav." Additionally, DHK actively supports authors through various awards, including the "Tin Ujević" and the "Ksaver Šandor Gjalski" prizes.

With numerous branches across Croatia, DHK not only champions local literature but also engages with international literary circles, hosting events and discussions that highlight the richness of Croatian literature.
