Diabetes NQ is a diabetes management and education service in Mackay, supporting children, adolescents, and adults living with all types of diabetes. Led by Siobhan Barlow, a Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse and Midwife, and Credentialled Diabetes Educator, the service offers personalised, non-judgemental care designed to help clients manage diabetes in ways that fit their lives. No referral is needed, and eligible clients may claim Medicare rebates.

Services include diabetes technology assessments, continuous glucose monitor support, insulin pump starts and upgrades, and coaching in medical weight management and lifestyle support. Siobhan is a certified insulin pump trainer and can assist with setup and training for devices including Omnipod, Medtronic, Tandem, and YpsoPump systems. As a Nurse Practitioner, she can also assess health concerns, prescribe medications, order and interpret tests, develop tailored treatment plans, and provide health education.

Diabetes NQ also offers consultancy, training, and practical support for healthcare providers, aged-care facilities, workplaces, agencies, and families. Sessions cover diabetes care, medication management, emergencies, hypoglycaemia, and general education.
