## Description

The IG Deutzer Dienstagszug is a community association dedicated to the Deutzer Dienstagszug, one of the longstanding and popular carnival processions on the right bank of the Rhine in Cologne. Founded in 1970, the organization works to preserve and actively shape local carnival traditions while bringing residents, participants, supporters, and visitors together in Deutz.

Its central activity is organizing the annual Tuesday procession. Members contribute their time and creativity to prepare costumes and build floats, helping create a lively event for people of all ages. The association also shares news, historical information, event dates, photographs, videos, and press coverage through its website. Participants can find information about registering for the procession and its route, while sponsors, friends, and supporters can learn how to get involved.

Led by chair Philipp Buir, the IGDD emphasizes community spirit, local identity, and the future of carnival traditions. Its message is captured in the 2027 session motto, “Morje es, wat do drus mähs” (“Tomorrow is what you make of it”), and its welcome to the community: “Düx Alaaf!”.
