## Description

Dietrich Hüte Berlin is an independent hat-design brand led by Stephan Dietrich, whose more than 30 years of experience as a costume designer for theatres in Germany and abroad inform the atelier’s distinctive approach. Drawing on knowledge of costume and hat history, styles, and fashion, Dietrich reinterprets historical and contemporary forms to create original designs with a sculptural character.

The collection includes individual hats for women and men, including couture models. Designs begin with traditional materials such as straw and hair felt, alongside paper, leather, and crinoline. Each piece is made by hand in the Berlin atelier, following traditional craftsmanship and combining form, material, and colour in considered, sometimes daring ways. The guiding aim is to reduce each design to its essentials while preserving its individuality.

Visitors can explore the models at the atelier on Meraner Strasse in Berlin, which is open Wednesday to Friday and Saturday, with visits also available by arrangement. Dietrich Hüte Berlin offers a personal, craft-led alternative to mass-produced headwear.
