Since its establishment in 2009, the CDE has been funding doctoral researchers in the fields of games, visual effects, and animation. With Β£20 million of investment, CDE offers outstanding opportunities to both students and companies.

As a national Doctoral Training Centre in these sectors, CDE has funded approximately 100 students who gain exceptional industry experience during their placements. By partnering with some of the world's most outstanding companies, CDE creates a supportive and collaborative environment for research and development. Students benefit from enhanced career choices in these competitive industries, while companies gain access to highly skilled students for their development needs.

CDE supports various activities to enrich the learning experience, including specialist training, international conferences, and student-led events. This unique and enriching environment truly sets CDE apart from other institutions.
