## Description

The Bundesministerium für Gesundheit (BMG) is at the forefront of healthcare in Germany, offering a range of services to ensure the well-being of the population. One of the significant initiatives they have spearheaded is the implementation of the EU's Digital COVID Certificate. This certificate, introduced in 2021, provides a recognized proof of vaccination, recovery, or negative COVID-19 test results for seamless travel across the European Union.

The BMG has been instrumental in setting up the technical specifications and regulations necessary for the issuance and validation of these digital certificates, ensuring data protection and interoperability with international standards. While the EU's Trust Framework for COVID certificates will cease operations in 2023, Germany is working on a long-term solution for digital vaccination documentation through the electronic health record system.

With the CovPass app, individuals can conveniently manage and store their COVID certificates, ensuring compliance with travel and health safety regulations. As the landscape evolves, BMG remains committed to advancing digital health solutions and promoting public well-being.
