Focused on modernizing government procedures, the DigitalService employs a user-centered, agile, and interdisciplinary approach to software development, supporting open-source initiatives to promote reusability. They provide a range of services, including the Tech4Germany and Work4Germany fellowship programs, which integrate external digital experts into federal ministries to foster innovative work methods and improve digital project implementation.

The DigitalService engages in numerous projects that transform bureaucratic processes, such as developing an intuitive legal information system (NeuRIS) and the Digitalcheck for creating digitally compatible regulations. They prioritize collaboration and transparency, sharing insights and progress through a dedicated blog. By effectively partnering with federal authorities, the DigitalService demonstrates its commitment to a digitally capable Germany, ensuring that both citizens and administrative staff benefit from streamlined, user-friendly digital solutions.
