## Description

Digital Story Universe (DSU) is a Leeds-based company developing a decentralised platform for collaborative storytelling. Its vision reflects the shift toward Web3, where creators can retain greater ownership of their identity, work and income, with compensation linked directly to their contributions rather than mediated by traditional intermediaries. DSU works within Yorkshire’s digital media and creative sector and has partnerships with XR Stories, as well as ties to universities in York, Reading and Leeds.

The company is developing the Digital Story Universe Portal, a bespoke web-based platform intended to bring together storytelling, fan fiction, gaming and multimedia in one place. Its Fiction 360° format enriches stories through integrated creative elements such as graphic design, audio, interactive maps and podcasts. DSU describes this as immersive storytelling rather than gaming or an escape-room experience. The first story planned for the portal is The Valley of Death, a crime thriller featuring Detective Abe Abrahams, his partner Raven, and a mystery set amid conflicting interests in San Francisco and Yosemite.
